This winter, learn to stay warm while reducing energy costs. Energy efficiency is an environmental issue that impacts your family. Come learn some do-it-yourself fixes from one of Seattle City Light's energy auditors. This home weatherization workshop will provide tips and resources on improving your homes energy efficieny, as well as ideas for making large and small scale changes to your home inside and out.

Ken Katayama of Seattle City Light will offer tips on home heating and hot water conservation, as well as appliance and light efficiency and water conservation. Specific emphasis will be placed on less expensive steps that home owners and tenants can take, including programs to further insulate your home. Additionally, he will cover insulated window treatments and provide some ball park cost figures for big ticket improvements including window replacements, furnace conversions, and heat pumps.

Several low-cost items will be provided at the workshop, including efficient shower heads, faucet aerators, compact flourescent light bulbs, and foam outlet/switchplate gaskets, as well as a variety of informational brochures and booklets.
